At Sokudo, we are committed to protecting your privacy while providing powerful vehicle tracking, trip monitoring, and navigation features. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
Personal Information
- Name, email address, and phone number (if provided during registration)
- Vehicle details (registration number, make, model, etc.)
Vehicle & Location Data
- Real-time GPS Location – to track your vehicle and provide navigation
- Trip details (start time, end time, distance, route, speed, stops)
- Driving behavior data (harsh braking, acceleration, cornering)
- Vehicle diagnostics and status (if connected via OBD or Bluetooth)
Device Permissions & Data
- Location – Always (for continuous vehicle tracking)
- Camera – For scanning vehicle documents or taking photos of damage
- Bluetooth – For connecting to vehicle OBD devices or smart keys
- Storage / File Access – To save trip reports, documents, and photos
- Device information (model, OS version, unique device ID)
Note: Some data (such as trip details and preferences) is stored locally in SharedPreferences in unencrypted form. We recommend using device-level security (screen lock, biometric authentication) to protect your device.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide real-time vehicle tracking and location services
- Generate trip history, reports, and driving insights
- Offer accurate navigation and route suggestions
- Connect with Bluetooth/OBD devices for vehicle data
- Improve app performance and develop new features

3. Data Storage & Security
We use a combination of local and cloud storage:
- Trip details and user preferences are stored locally in SharedPreferences (unencrypted)
- We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data
⚠️ Important: Since some data is stored unencrypted in SharedPreferences, please keep your device secure and enable device encryption.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal or vehicle data to third parties. We may share data only in the following cases:
- With your explicit consent
- With service providers who help us operate the app (cloud hosting, analytics, maps)
- When required by law or to protect the safety of users
- In case of a merger or acquisition of Sokudo
